This close to the water, cheap film does not last. For anything with real sun exposure, ceramic window tint is the upgrade worth paying for. It rejects heat by blocking infrared rather than by being dark, which matters because Florida caps front side windows at 28% VLT no matter what you drive. You cannot legally solve heat with darkness. We install interior-mounted film wherever the glass allows, for the same reason: inside the building, film is protected from the salt that shortens the life of anything mounted outside.

Staying Legal in Santa Rosa County

Florida sets one standard statewide: at least 28% VLT on the front side windows of any vehicle, 15% behind the driver on a car, and 6% behind the driver on an SUV, truck, or van.

The catch is that the legal reading measures film and factory glass together. Your factory glass is already around 70 to 80% VLT before anything goes on it, so a film labelled 35% can meter under the limit once installed.
